As you all know, Asian girls is one of my biggest hobbies. But other than that, I also DO enjoy writing. I know most of you won’t read this/care at all, but for the small few that are curious, here’s a sample of one of my most recent stories I wrote. This really happened to me and meant a lot to me. Think of this as a little insight into IHeartAsianGirls got started and why it’s so important to me [:

turnandleave:

In the dark, humid auditorium, everyone was jumping with every beat from the DJ. Sweat pouring down their faces, their smiles reached from ear to ear. They danced and danced as if they had no troubles in the world. Feeling a bit dehydrated, I paused for a moment to take a sip from my half empty water bottle and wipe the sweat from my eye brows.

As I stood there for that brief moment, I looked to my left and that’s when I saw her, jumping up and down. She wasn’t dressed like the other girls, fluorescent laced clothing or skimpy, revealing outfit. No, in fact, her lack of conformity made her all the more appealing. She was dressed in knee high brown boots, a short acid washed denim shorts, and a thin, red flannel that barely exposed a little bit of her thin mid-drift. In many ways, you can think of her as a modern Asian cowgirl.

She seemed like she was having the time of her life, dancing with her friends. But in her group, she seemed like the odd man out. Dancing along side her was a couple; a boy and girl, dancing close together. As I glanced towards their direction, I noticed the girl dancing with the boy had these Hello Kitty glasses on.

Being we were at a rave, I wanted to be as friendly as possible. So I walked towards her direction and tapped her on the shoulder. When she looked at my direction, I proceeded to show her the tattoo on my inner bicep. That spurred up a small conversation between myself and the group that eventually lead us to head outside for a cigarette break.

As we walked out, I put my hand on her shoulder, the girl with the red shirt, so as to not lose them. As we made our way outside, we lit up our cigarettes and just began to chat. At first, the conversation was a round table between the four of us, but eventually, I began talking to that girl.

Her name was Becky and she was from Beijing. She came over a few years ago and you could still hear the heavy accent in her voice. I noticed she had a tattoo of a key on her wrist, and upon bringing it up, she began to frown as she mentioned it dealt with a former lover of hers. But almost instantly, she had hope and said how it didn’t matter, that there’ll be a new lover to take her away from the pain.

After we finished our smoke, they decided to head in. I decided I’d go in with them to meet up with my group, and as we got down the stairs, we parted ways. I took a left towards the stage and they took a right towards the bar.

I met up with my friends again and we began dancing again as if my disappearance hadn’t happened. But no more than 10 minutes later did I get a tap on my shoulder. I turned around, and there was Becky, standing with a smile on her face. I was so surprised that I gave her a big hug as we greeted each other yet again.

We didn’t talk. She put her arm around me and I did the same. Within a matter of minutes, I gently pulled her to my midsection as we began dancing together. What a feeling. We didn’t exchange one word, and yet, it was as if we knew each other so perfectly, as we danced together through every beat.

And as the set went on, I pulled her in closer and she’d hold my hand even tighter. I gently hugged her and moved my hands on long her stomach. As I explored her entire midsection, I discovered that she had a piercing on her belly button. I tried my hardest to hover over it, but in my mind, this slight bit of intimacy between two random strangers sent a jolt of euphoria through my entire nervous system.

I moved in to kiss her on the cheek to acknowledge the connection we created and she glazed over with a huge smile. And with that, we continued to dance with everyone else in the crowd.

After a while, she decided it was time to move on and go back to her friends. As she made her way out, she gave me a big hug and I returned with a kiss on the cheek. We parted ways, said our good byes, and that was the last time we ever saw each other that night.

Even though we met just an hour before that, I fell in love with her. Without knowing anything about her, the connection we formed during that short time together could be compared to years of friendship. We didn’t know each other at all, and yet, we knew each other so well.

I was disappointed to see her leave, but I wasn’t sad. I was happy, in fact. Happy because I got to experience butterflies in my stomach as we held each other for that short while.

I didn’t get her number. I started to curse myself a bit, until I realized how perfect it was that I didn’t. The more likely I try to pursue something I saw during those moments together, the more likely I’ll end up being disappointed because the love we shared wasn’t so pure. And I became satisfied with what we had because nothing was able to taint the experience the both of us shared together.

So I know her first name as well as the names of her friends. I know what schools they go to, what organizations they belong to, but that’s about it. Even with that bit of information, it’ll be way too hard to track them down. But it’s ok. It’s ok because the only lasting memory I have of her and what we shared together is a photograph that I’ll keep close to my heart forever.

To Becky, the girl who I met for but a moment but shared the purest form of love that’ll be with me throughout eternity.
